Position Size Calculator

Calculate exactly how many lots or shares to trade based on your capital and risk tolerance.

Lot size: 25 units

How Position Sizing Works

The percentage risk model: risk a fixed percentage of your capital on each trade. Most professionals use 0.5%–2%.

Formula: Position Size = (Capital × Risk%) ÷ (Risk Per Unit × Lot Size)

Example: ₹2,00,000 capital × 1% = ₹2,000 max risk. If your Nifty options stop is ₹50 away and lot size is 25, risk per lot = ₹1,250. You can trade 1 lot.

Recommended risk per trade:

  • Beginners: 0.5%
  • Intermediate: 1%
  • Experienced: Up to 2%
  • Never exceed 2% on a single trade
